Grasshoppers 

Our Christmas family tradition includes Grasshoppers.  I received this recipe from Mike Maloney/Mary Sue Taft (RA retirees).  Their tip was a game changer. No longer do I wait for the blender trying to serve my large family – this makes it easy to serve everyone at once!

Ingredients

  • 5 qt. pail of Vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 8 oz. container thawed whipped topping
  • 1 cup Creme de Cacao (White)
    2 cups Creme de Menthe (Green)

Note:

  • For a Brandy Alexander recipe substitute the liquor above to 1 cup Creme de Cacao (Dark) and 2 cups Brandy.

Step by Step Instructions

 Step 1

Allow ice cream to soften (around 15 minutes).
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl using a hand mixer until smooth.
Pour back into the ice cream bucket and freeze.

When ready to serve, scoop into glasses and serve with a straw.

Great for a party, this recipe can be made ahead of time.
