Hawaiian Holiday Cheese Ball

Years ago, at my first job, we had assembly lines full of ladies who loved to cook and have a food party during lunch hour for any reason. This dip was an instant hit and loved by everyone so it became a regular at the food parties from a nice lady name Lois who introduced it.

Hawaiian Holiday Cheese Ball

By: Debby Penkwitz

Ingredients

  • 2 cups finely chopped pecans (divided)
  • 1/4 finely chopped mixed green and red pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped Maui sweet onion
  • 1 teaspoon Lawry’s seasoned salt
  • 2 8-ounce blocks of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 8-ounce can of crushed pineapple, well drained

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Add one cup of the pecans to the softened cream cheese along with the pepper, onion, salt and pineapple and mix well.

Step 2

On parchment paper, pour the remaining pecans and form mixture into a ball or log, pressing lightly to push the nuts not the cheese.

Step 3

Wrap in wax or parchment paper for 4 hours to firm up.

Step 4

Serve with assorted buttery crackers. (You can also go easy on yourself and spread the cheese on a jelly roll pan and top with the nuts and it will still taste delicious and be less mess).
