Voter Family’s Baby Back Ribs

Enjoy these tender ribs with a rub that has taken our family years to perfect. Some folks like to eat them straight off the grill, but if you want them extra tender/falling off bone, the secret is to put the BBQ sauce on, wrap in foil, and cook for another hour or so.

Rib Rub (enough for 3 racks):

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 1/4 cup steak seasoning
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp. ground pepper

  • 1 tsp. cayenne

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Mix Rib Rub  together.

Rub on ribs, cover and refrigerate overnight.

Step 2

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Double wrap in foil, so no air can escape.  Bake at 300 for 2 hours and 15 min.

Step 3

Unwrap from foil and BBQ on medium for 20 min (or until desired char).

Step 4

Smother with your favorite BBQ sauce and re-wrap in foil.  Put back in oven at 175 degrees for at least 1 hour.
